Dahlonega Man Charged with Meth Trafficking Following Probation Violation in Lumpkin County

After police found a huge amount of methamphetamine and other prohibited narcotics at a Dahlonega man’s home, he faces serious charges. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Tony Lamar Sullens, 59, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possessing Schedule II and Schedule IV prohibited narcotics.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Friday that a probation violation warrant was the reason for Sullens’s arrest. More than 600 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a diverse collection of medicines, including more than 80 suspected Hydrocodone tablets and more than 110 suspected Alprazolam tablets, were found during a search of his property.

The GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the Department of Community Supervision, and the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office worked together on the ongoing investigation. According to GBI, Sullens is currently being held at the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
