The festivities use a blueprint similar to the one from Dearborn’s popular annual Restaurant Week, banking on the burgeoning love for a good cup of joe. Tahrik Alcodray, West Dearborn DDA Chair, expects the event to be a unique experience. “We hope residents and visitors alike have an opportunity to visit Dearborn for a coffee experience like no other,” he said.

Events throughout the week include tastings, pop-ups, games, and live music, all free for those interested in the caffeinated arts. Participants of Dearborn Coffee Week can sip and savor samples at the kick-off event, which takes place at PEACE Park West, with the address listed as 22271 Michigan Ave, from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

The inaugural Dearborn Coffee Week wraps up a week’s worth of caffeine-fueled activities with a lecture delving into the background of coffee culture at the Arab American National Museum at 13624 Michigan Ave. The lecture, part of an event named Coffee Talk, is set for Nov. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. and will feature local business showcases, a strolling gallery, henna, and other activities. With the community and city’s backing, including notable sponsors like Qahwah House and Ford Motor Company, Dearborn is poised to create a brewing tradition that could stimulate both its cultural and economic landscapes.
