Dearborn Man Fatally Injured in Electric Bicycle Crash on Schaefer Road on New Year’s Eve

A man from Dearborn was killed in a bicycle accident that occurred early on New Year’s Eve morning.

An electric bicycle was involved in a collision on Schaefer Road and Colson on December 31 at eleven o’clock in the morning, according to the Dearborn Police Department. According to the investigators, the rider, a man from the region who was forty years old, lost control of his bicycle while traveling on Schaefer and collided with a utility pole.

At the time of the collision, the individual was not wearing any kind of protective gear, including a helmet, according to the police.

He was rushed to the hospital, but he did not survive his stay there.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of death has not been identified through any investigation.
