Dense Fog Thursday Morning, Rain Returns Friday as Unseasonably Warm Weekend Approaches

After a brief burst of brightness on Christmas morning, we’ve retained cloud cover in the forecast for the majority of the day, and it appears that cloud cover will remain throughout the week.

We should expect generally cloudy skies tomorrow, with some patchy dense fog possible after midnight and early Thursday morning. The overnight low has dropped into the mid-30s.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures remaining quite stable throughout the day. The high temperature is expected to reach nearly 40° by Thursday afternoon.

Our next possibility of rain arrives Friday afternoon and evening, and it will last into the weekend. Expect temperatures to rise a few degrees, reaching the middle 40s by Friday afternoon, before rising far above normal to the low to mid 50s on Saturday and Sunday before a cold front passes through the region.

We’ll retain the cloud cover in the forecast to begin next week on Monday, but another round of rain showers will arrive with another severe low pressure system on Tuesday.

High temperatures will remain above average in the mid 40s to begin next week, but there are some indications that once this cold front passes through next Tuesday, temperatures will drop back to more seasonable levels, and we may see another round of lake effect snow showers to begin the new year on Wednesday. High temperatures will fall into the mid-30s by Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 34.
