Residents of Denver will have a voice in how their health care is provided in the future. In order to collect information on the health and well-being of people residing in the Denver area, the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE) is contacting the public to complete the Thrive in the Mile High Survey, a quick questionnaire. Residents can help shape health efforts that are specific to their community with just a 60-second investment.
The poll is a crucial part of DDPHE’s five-year Community Health Assessment, the agency claims. With the goal of comprehending not only the physical health of citizens but also the social, economic, and environmental factors that can either support or undermine well-being, it attempts to present a comprehensive picture of Denver’s public health environment. In addition to shedding light on the city’s health inequalities, these data are intended to help shape the public resources and initiatives that will try to address them.
According to DDPHE Executive Director Karin McGowan, “the Thrive in the Mile High Survey aims to provide a clear, comprehensive picture of what Denver residents need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.” She underlined how crucial community involvement is to creating successful public health initiatives. “By listening to the voices of our community, we can identify both strengths and challenges and shape our public health efforts to support a healthier Denver for everyone,” as perDDPHE.
With a comprehensive “One Health” approach that acknowledges the complex relationships between the health of people, animals, and the common environment, the DDPHE is keeping its ear to the ground. This idea is reflected in the survey, which asks about a variety of health variables. The deadline for residents to ensure their voice is heard is December 6. The survey is available in Spanish and Vietnamese, and community partners are collaborating closely with the DDPHE to expand outreach, demonstrating an additional effort to incorporate a variety of viewpoints.
The Thrive in the Mile High Survey is available on the city’s website for anybody who wants to help shape Denver’s health landscape. Names or other personal identifiers are not collected, and the survey is safe and anonymous.
