A 22-year-old guy who was allegedly carrying a knife was shot by deputies on Saturday night in Washtenaw County.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a major crash in Superior Township shortly after 8 p.m.
Authorities were called to the location by someone who claimed to be a passenger in a car that had stabbed the driver and was attempting to attack witnesses.
The Ypsilanti man was armed with a knife when deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies shot the man in order to subdue him, according to the sheriff’s office.
The number of rounds fired and the number of deputies that shot at the individual are unknown.
Officials said that after the victim was shot, deputies gave him medical attention. And for treatment, he was taken to the hospital.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver, a 53-year-old woman, was hospitalized after sustaining multiple stab wounds and receiving medical attention.

The event is under investigation by the Michigan State Police. During the course of the investigation, Geddes Road adjacent to Woodlands Drive is now closed.
