The Detroit Lions, who open their 2020 season with a game at Ford Field against the Chicago Bears on September 13, announced today that BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings, is the club’s first official sports betting partner.

The partnership includes fan-centric resources such as the sponsor’s presentation of Lions Bingo and Lions Perks, as well as team broadcast programs, digital marketing assets, and stadium promotions and signage.

The additions reflect an expansion of the existing multi-year partnership with MGM Resorts and the Lions, which includes the MGM Grand Detroit Tunnel Club at Ford Field.

“The Detroit Lions’ historic relationship with BetMGM has been going on for years and we are proud to announce details of our official partnership,” said Rod Wood, president of the Detroit Lions. “We’re always looking for new ways to entertain and involve our fans, which is especially important at such unusual times. This partnership with BetMGM offers additional and exciting opportunities to motivate our fans. “

Lions Bingo, available on the Detroit Lions Mobile App, is a predictable, free game that was launched during the 2019 season. Fans can play bingo while guessing what games might happen, or win stats from Lions home and away games for various non-cash prizes.

New for 2020, with BetMGM as a partner, fans who accurately predict the correct sequence of game scenarios can win cash prizes and future paid trips to visit MGM Resorts properties across the country.

Lions Perks was first introduced in the 2018 season and is available to all fans at Lions home games on the team’s mobile app. BetMGM and the BetMGM Sports Lounge at MGM Grand Detroit Casino offer exclusive Lions Perks rewards and specials.

Some of the Lions Perks and BetMGM Points can now also be donated to the Detroit Lions Charities. Guests are asked to search their Lions Perk card for any goods or food / drink purchases made at Ford Field in order to obtain entries for the game-specific competition. Season ticket members also qualify for the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl sweepstakes by searching their Lions Perks card for purchases at the stadium.

To access both Lions Bingo and Lions Perks, fans can download the Lions mobile app, available on iOS and Android.
