Detroit Pistons without Blake Griffin, Josh Jackson vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The Pistons compete against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and need all the help they can get.

Not less.

The Butts will be understaffed when they open a two-game set in Milwaukee Monday night, however. Blake Griffin (injury management) and Josh Jackson (right ankle sprain) will not play in the first matchup of the season at the Fiserv Forum.

Griffin’s absence isn’t an injury problem. At least at the beginning of the season, he didn’t play on the second night of the back-to-backs. The Pistons lost to the Boston Celtics Sunday afternoon and Jackson was injured after landing awkwardly on the ankle. He left the game in the second quarter and did not return in the second half.

It’s unclear whether either of them will play in the rematch in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
