A man was taken into custody by the Detroit police department today after he was accused of crashing his vehicle in the downtown area and then fleeing the scene.
In response to a single motor vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday evening about 11:40 p.m., law enforcement officials arrived to the intersection of Woodward and Monroe.
According to the police, a car that was traveling at a high rate of speed took off and then smashed into a barrier, which also caused property damage. There were no claims of injury made.
There is a man in his 20s from Farmington Hill, Michigan who is currently being held in custody for this occurrence.
Leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, filing a false felony report, and reckless driving are all offenses that will result in the submission of a warrant, according to the authorities.
