Detroit Police Investigating Robbery on Sobieski Street; Suspect Fled After Stealing Woman’s Pocketbook on December 18

The Detroit Police Department is searching for a person who is suspected of stealing a pocketbook from a woman at the beginning of this week.

On Wednesday, December 18, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the robbery took place in the 4400 block of Sobieski Street.

The perpetrator allegedly approached the victim from behind and grabbed her pocketbook off of her shoulder, as reported by the police departments.

Following the incident, the suspect fled across Justine Street in a northerly direction.

According to the police, the suspect is a male who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, has a hefty frame, and has a medium complexion. He is also described as having a medium complexion.

During the robbery, he was dressed in a gray sweatsuit and a black vest with red writing on the back of the vest.
