Detroit police seek tips in fatal Christmas Eve hit-and-run


Detroit – Police are seeking public assistance in identifying and locating a driver in a fatal accident on Christmas Eve on the west side of Detroit.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. that Thursday in the Schoolcraft and Greenfield area.

Police say the victim, a 44-year-old man, was crossing the street when he was hit by a vehicle traveling south in the green field.

But instead of stopping, police say the driver continued south on the greenfield and turned right onto Plymouth Road.

The police are looking for a blue sedan and say it could be a Ford Fusion.

Police are asking those with information about the limo and its driver to call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 800-SPEAK-UP. Crime stopper tipsters remain anonymous.
