It’s a gloomy and miserable start to the day after Christmas.
Temperatures in Metro Detroit are mild, ranging from the mid to upper 30s, so any precipitation will be rain.
However, patchy freezing fog and precipitation are forecast in northern Lower Michigan until early this morning. Light icing on highways is also expected in the Tri-Cities area.

Light rain arrives after midnight and continues into early Friday. Tomorrow’s daytime hours will be mostly dry before more widespread rain arrives late Friday, ushering in a moderate and rainy weekend with Saturday highs in the 50s.
Temperatures will gradually fall from Sunday through next week, as they approach seasonal highs to begin the new year. Plan for many rounds of rain over the weekend and on New Year’s Eve.
