Fun house of style.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The same goes for the weird, unusual, and completely weird houses of Motor City. The Return of the Detroit Weird Homes Tour offers an in-depth and personal look inside seven creatively designed homes, as well as their owners, who will be on-site to share stories about their one-offs and the way Gawkers digs into the architectural curiosities and wild décor to record oneself.
This year’s tour includes a look inside David’s Pop-Art House, Fun House of Style, Boom Boom Museum, Hamtramck Disneyland, MBAD African Bead Museum, Detroit Artists’ Test Lab and Rons Recycled Roost. VIP tickets gain access to a bonus house, Detroit Gallery of Metals. Ten percent of all ticket revenue goes to Southwest Solutions, which is committed to providing affordable housing in Detroit.
The tour starts on Saturday, August 24th at 10am. The map of the houses will be provided with the purchase. oddhomestour.com. Tickets cost over $ 30.
