No matter how long people lived in Detroit, there is always something different to try: a different rib hut, a new kind of pizza, or a Lebanese mainstay. That’s because Motor City is full of flavor.

Covering so many square miles and diverse cultures, Detroit is difficult to pin down its goodness in a short list of iconic local dishes, but Eater tried it. Below is an introduction to 30 of the most delicious products the city has to offer right now, from cones to dolls to potato fritters.

In March 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released a report that provided statistically significant evidence that eating in on-site restaurants and bars was followed by an increase in COVID-19 infections and deaths. Individuals who are fully vaccinated should consult the CDC’s preliminary guidelines on restaurants and other forms of social gathering.
