Downtown Garland Welcomes Santa Claus for a Festive Season Full of Family Fun and Local Shopping Events

In anticipation of the holidays, downtown Garland is offering a number of chances for friends and family to make joyous memories. Santa Claus, a seasonal favorite for both children and adults, makes his debut at the center of these gatherings, ready to pose for pictures and spread holiday cheer. The jolly old elf is present at a number of community events throughout the season, such as Small Business Saturday, Christmas on the Square, and the Sip N’ Stroll.

The City of Garland has announced that beginning on Nov. 30, residents can join Santa for a picture day during Small Business Saturday, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Offering seasonal treats and exclusive deals to support the local economy, the Visitor Center kicks off the day. Gift-wrapping services and a number of downtown holiday-themed attractions are also part of the event.

On December 5, Santa Claus continues to be the focal point of the celebration of Christmas on the Square. Amidst a backdrop of live music, real reindeer, and a snow hill, among other alluring features described by the City of Garland, guests will have the opportunity to take a memorable picture with Santa in the Downtown Square beginning at 5 p.m. A grove of Christmas trees and the brightness of festive lights accompany the yearly tree lighting ceremony, which is the event’s high point.

The Sip N’ Stroll, which is set for December 14 from 4 to 8 p.m., is the final chance to get a picture with Santa. Along with Santa, guests can meet Mrs. Claus and the Grinch for more photo opportunities at this ticketed event, which promises a family-friendly atmosphere. While touring downtown Garland, tourists may also savor regional cuisine and distinctive handicrafts.
