Detroit police are looking for tips to find suspects in two shootings reported Friday on the west and east sides of the city in which one person died and two others were hospitalized.

At around 12:10 p.m. after a car crashed into two others at Block 16400 in Belton, officers found a 34-year-old man “sitting in the driver’s seat unresponsive to a gunshot wound to the body,” police said in one Statement.

Medics pronounced the man dead. Authorities had no description of a suspect.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Detroit Police Department Homicide Unit at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

In a separate incident reported by Mack at around 4:50 pm at Block 10300, a 19-year-old man was in a shop when “words were exchanged” with another person who pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and shot him, police said in a statement.

A 46-year-old bystander and a third man were also beaten before the suspect escaped with a companion believed to be armed.

The 19-year-old was taken to the hospital and kept in stable condition on Friday evening, police said.

The 46-year-old victim was also hospitalized in stable condition. The third man refused treatment and left the scene.

Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his twenties with a medium brown complexion who most recently wore a black face mask, a black hoodie with a red stripe on the upper shoulder blade, light pants and black and white trainers.

His companion was described as a man with a fair complexion who wore a black shirt, gray pants, and purple sneakers.
