DDN – A man was killed and another is in arrest following a crash in Kalamazoo County early Sunday morning. A witness informed deputies that the cars involved looked to be racing before to the accident.
It occurred around 2:45 a.m. Sunday on southbound US-131 near Oshtemo Township. Deputies were dispatched to the location just south of West Main Street, where a car had collided with a support post for one of the northbound highway exit signs.
The car’s driver, a 25-year-old Oshtemo male, was extricated and transported to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Deputies say a witness noticed the victim and another driver race each other as they passed.
The other driver, a 22-year-old Kalamazoo man, had pulled over after witnessing the incident. He was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
The crash is still under investigation. Deputies believe the automobiles clashed during the activities that preceded the tragedy, although this has yet to be confirmed.
