SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. (DDN) – A small incident on I-75 in Saginaw County escalated Wednesday morning after a suspected drunk driver collided with a Michigan State Police cruiser.
According to MSP, a trooper was responding to a crash on the northbound side of the interstate near the M-46 exit at 6:45 a.m. when another car collided with their vehicle.
The trooper was not in the patrol vehicle and had to jump out of the path to escape being hit.
The trooper sustained a minor injury while jumping out of the path, while others engaged in the first crash were injured in the second crash. The occupants and trooper were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police apprehended the at-fault driver. An investigation is ongoing.
