Drunk Driver Causes Two Crashes, Injuring One in Multi-Car Wreck in San Antonio; Arrested and Charged

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. (DDN) – According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 42-year-old male was charged with drunken assault following two separate car incidents involving five vehicles on the North Side Monday.

Around 8:38 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Stahl and Judson roads.

A male in his twenties drove a black Ford pickup truck north on Judson Road, disregarding a red light. According to a preliminary SAPD report, he collided with another car, which caused the initial crash.

According to authorities, the driver of the Ford escaped the scene but later ran a red light on Stahl Road, striking a driver in a Nissan automobile.

As a result of the collision, the Nissan was pushed into two stopped automobiles on Judson Road.

According to police, the driver of the Nissan was brought to the hospital in bad condition.

The man driving the Ford truck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Following his evaluation, he was detained for drunken assault, according to the report.

Recently, a man accused of assaulting a 7-year-old girl on her way home from school last month in the Woodland Heights neighborhood has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) added Carlos Jose Ayala Morales, 43, to the list.

Ayala is currently wanted in Harris County for attempting indecency with a child via sexual contact. The incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. on January 27. HPD said Ayala “inappropriately grabbed and touched” the child when she was walking in the 800 block of Omar Street.

Ayala was born in Honduras and has a criminal record that includes a 2000 conviction for burglarizing a Dallas building, which led in a six-month prison sentence.

In 2018, he was convicted of evading arrest with a vehicle and three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, involving two 14-year-old girls and one 12-year-old girl. He was also convicted of indecency with a child for exposing an 8-year-old girl. Several of these attacks occurred while the victims were walking home from school, as is the case with his latest claim.
