Dump Truck Crashes Into Target Store in New Jersey, Injuring Six and Causing Major Damage

DDN – A dump truck plowed into the side of a Target store in New Jersey on Friday afternoon, shattering part of the building’s wall and creating a massive hole.

According to authorities, the incident occurred near the North Bergen Target store on Tonnelle Avenue, blocking the road in both directions between 70th and 76th streets.

The collision occurred shortly after 2 p.m., resulting in a major response from local law police and first responders.

The crash injured six persons, including two seriously, according to North Bergen police. Five of the patients are being treated in local hospitals. According to the fire chief, a woman who was in the store bathroom when the vehicle crashed through the wall had the most serious injuries.

According to authorities, the dump truck driver was one among the patients transported to the hospital.

According to police, the dump truck drove onto the southbound lanes, colliding with a tractor-trailer before slamming into Target. Chopper 4 spotted the tractor-trailer close, with the back looking entirely damaged.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
