Beginning on December 1, the city of Dunwoody will once again host its yearly Holiday Lights event at Brook Run Park, spreading holiday pleasure. According to a recent announcement from Dunwoody Parks and Recreation, Mayor Lynn Deutsch will light up the park at 6 p.m. on opening night in conjunction with the City Council to begin the festivities.
With an amazing 100,000-light show, Brook Run Park will be turned into an Arctic Safari fantasy. According to Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch, “The holiday light display brings so much joy to our community.” The festive attraction will feature safari-themed cars, a train, and even an igloo, making for a breathtaking spectacle that attracts thousands of people annually. Until the end of the year, visitors will be able to see the exhibit lit every night.
Beginning at 4 p.m. on December 1, DonutNV Atlanta will be serving free hot chocolate and donuts, providing families with a sweet treat while interacting with different costumed characters for photo ops. According to the official statement, Cub Scout Pack 575 and Top Job Beverages will be selling concessions to promote their “Helpers and Heroes” fundraiser for individuals who are interested in more than just food.
Two letter-writing campaigns will also be held by Dunwoody Parks & Recreation. While “Letters to Santa” enables kids to email Santa their Christmas wishes, Santa will reply with a personalized, sincere message—no gifts, just unique words—and “Letters to Seniors” asks citizens to write holiday greetings for people in assisted living facilities.
