San Jose’s culinary scene is set to receive a major boost with the opening of Eos & Nyx, a new Mediterranean restaurant with a unique dining experience. . In a former movie theater, the MO Hospitality Group has innovated the two-story, 4,000-square-foot establishment to seamlessly transition through day and night, harnessing the energies of its namesakes, the Greek goddesses of dawn and dusk.
Basile Studios was tasked with reshaping the former cinematic space into a leafy indoor canopy, capped off with a second-floor mezzanine that the original plans didn’t include. “We want to find all the possibilities that the space can offer for design and also for a business model for a restaurant,” design manager Talita Mathias commented, as cited by

. Offering mesmerizing views inside and out, the restaurant’s expansive windows on the mezzanine level invite diners to observe the city’s bustle or the tranquil refuge within.
The ambitious space isn’t just eye candy. The kitchen, led by chef Nicko Moulinos, features a menu rich with Mediterranean influences and classic California cuisine. Customers can anticipate seasonal ingredients, the kiss of smoke from an open wood-fired grill, and an intriguing dish lineup that includes succulent New York strip and sumptuous pappardelle with duck and spinach.
