We looked at things like high earnings, affluent residences, and overly educated populations by Texas city using Saturday Night Science. These are the standards by which you and a friend might debate who is more sophisticated during a gourmet dinner.
This list of the top ten pretentious locations in Texas was developed by scrutinizing 342 of the most populous regions in the state with more than 5,000 residents. These Texans aren’t conceited; they simply believe they are superior than you.

Method to Determine the Snobbiest Cities in Texas
Do you really believe we would just randomly compile this list? Not at all—here, Saturday Night Science is the only science we utilize.
We compiled a list of all Texas locations having 5,000 or more residents. After this, we were left with 342 spots overall. Next, we evaluated every location using these snoot-worthy standards (no, that’s not a word). English snob:
- Median home price (Higher is snobbier)
- Median household income (Higher is snobbier)
- Percent of population with a college degree (Higher is snobbier)
The American Community Survey provides information on incomes and college education levels. Zillow is the source of home prices. It turned out that this uncomplicated criterion was far more effective at identifying the snooty locations than more snobby ones, such as:
- Libaries per capita (Higher is snobbier)
- Museums per capita (Higher is snobbier)
- Private schools per capita (Higher is snobbier)
From there, we assigned scores ranging from one to 342 to each of our 342 positions in each category. After that, we summed the rankings of each location to create an overall score, with the snobbiest spot in Texas receiving the lowest score.
