WORCESTER – Three defendants were arraigned Thursday in Worcester County Superior Court on murder charges after a Worcester County Grand Jury handed up indictments against them for the November 21, 2024, shooting deaths of Tracy Landry and Evan Landry on Brookside Avenue in Worcester, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr.

Shaquille Watford, 32, of Weymouth, Jeffrey Toney, 29, of Attleboro, and Sheldon Thorpe, 23, of Fall River, were arraigned on two charges each of murder, armed assault with intent to rob, armed assault in a dwelling, and one count each of armed robbery, using a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of a firearm not at home or work.

Tracy, born May 30, 1966, in Lynn, was a lifelong Worcester resident remembered for her kind heart, strength as the only sister among six siblings, and devotion as a mother and grandmother to seven grandchildren.

Evan, born June 11, 1993, in Lynn, graduated from Worcester’s North High School in 2012 and cherished his two children, Faithlyani and Ashton, often taking them to parks and zoos.

Police responded to reports of gunshots around 6:20 p.m. and found both victims with multiple gunshot wounds. Tracy was pronounced dead at the scene, while Evan died later at a hospital. Autopsies revealed Tracy had four gunshot wounds and Evan had eight, with five spent shell casings found at the scene, likely from an assault rifle.

Watford was also arraigned on one count of possession of a rifle not at home or work.

Toney and Thorpe were also arraigned on one count of carrying a rifle or shotgun.
