Famed Milwaukee Attorney Gerald Boyle, Defense Lawyer for Jeffrey Dahmer, Passes Away at 88

The Milwaukee attorney Gerald Boyle, who defended serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, died at the age of 88. “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Gerald Boyle, who departed this world to be with his Lord on November 17, 2024,” his daughter Bridget Boyle wrote in a Facebook post mourning his demise, according to FOX6.

Although Boyle had been dealing with health issues since 2017, his daughter verified his death and stated that no particular cause was stated. In addition to being one of Wisconsin’s most well-known defense lawyers for his involvement in the 1992 Dahmer case, Boyle’s influence went beyond that well-known case. His daughter, Bridget Boyle, told WISN, “He fearlessly championed countless high-profile cases over a remarkable career spanning decades, earning widespread respect for his sharp legal mind and compassionate heart.”

On November 30, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Boyle will be seen at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee. At 11:00 a.m., there will be a Mass of Christian Burial. The Archbishop of Milwaukee, The Most Reverend Jerome Listecki, will celebrate the Mass. According to FOX6, Boyle is survived by his 59-year wife, Marna, and their three children, Ellen, Bridget, and Gerald, who have all worked in the legal field with him.
