Fatal Christmas Eve Crash in Kankakee County Heavy-duty Tow Truck Driver Killed, Son Seriously Hurt in Head-on Collision

A collision between a heavy-duty tow truck and another semi-trailer truck occurred on Christmas Eve in Kankakee County, Illinois. The collision resulted in the death of a tow truck driver and the serious injury of his son, who was 15 years old.”

On Christmas Eve, shortly after seven o’clock in the morning, a truck driver lost control of a semi while driving on Illinois Route 17 near Bull Creek Road near the village of Grant Park. As a result, the truck driver collided head-on with another semi.

A heavy-duty tow vehicle, which was one of the semis, flipped over as a result of the collision. The other semi caught fire and sustained significant damage as a result of the collision.

According to a post the firm made on its Facebook page, Ray & Wally’s Towing, which is situated in Lynwood, stated that the heavy-duty wrecker was operated by one of its drivers, who unfortunately passed away at the scene of the accident.

It has been reported by both the firm and the Illinois State Police that the driver’s son, who was 15 years old at the time of the accident, had critical injuries as a result of the collision.

Unfortunately, the condition of the second driver was not available.

The cause of the collision was being looked into by the authorities.
