Fatal Collision on US-91 in Cache County Claims One Life, Injures Two Others

According to ABC4, a tragic incident happened on US-91 Monday night in Cache County, leaving one person dead and two more injured. The collision, which included many vehicles, occurred at approximately 6:10 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. As a result, the highway was temporarily closed for investigation.

According to preliminary reports, a southbound Ford pickup swerved into the northbound lane close to mile marker 40 and collided with an oncoming Dodge truck. The impact then caused debris to strike a fourth vehicle, which prompted authorities to investigate the incident. According to KSL, one of the passengers in the Dodge truck suffered significant injuries, and the driver of the Ford pickup was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Both passengers were admitted to the hospital.

The driver of the Dodge pickup, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, tragically lost his life as a result of the tragedy. The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been made public by the Utah Highway Patrol. According to KUTV, the Patrol has not determined whether drug or alcohol usage or distracted driving was a contributing factor in the collision, and the precise reason of the collision is still being investigated.
