A man is currently facing multiple charges after a shooting incident in Fayetteville that left a man and woman injured, as reported by several sources. Bradley Raymond Donahue, 41, of Fayetteville, was detained and has been charged on several counts, including three counts of attempted murder, after the early Thursday morning event.
Police were first alerted to the incident around 1:30 a.m. when Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies, already patrolling the Gillespie Street area near the Royal Inn, heard gunshots. Shortly after, emergency communications began to receive multiple 911 calls about the situation. Upon deputies’ arrival, they encountered Donahue, who attempted to get into the patrol car before trying to hastily flee on foot. However, deputies managed to apprehend Donahue,

The investigation that followed revealed two gunshot victims, an adult male and a female, who were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Furthermore, it was discovered that there was a third victim who, fortunately, was not struck by the gunfire. The condition of the hospitalized victims and the details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
Donahue’s charges include two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and two counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property inflicting serious injury.
