The Philadelphia Christmas Village will reopen from November 28 to December 24. Tomorrow through Sunday is Preview Weekend. The City of Philadelphia notice that was posted earlier details the Christmas activities and shopping that will be available at the German-style outdoor market.
The Christmas Village, which is in its 17th year, is growing. The kids’ wonderland has been upgraded to bring even more joy to younger guests, beer garden enthusiasts can relax in a larger area surrounded by seasonal ales, and those who prefer plant-based food will have new options at the vegan booth, which is a nod to dietary diversity. Food, beverages, and merchandise from the 120 vendors are priced according to individual usage and desire to buy, but admittance is still free.
The double-decker carousel, Ferris wheel, and children’s train are returning to this year’s Christmas Village. Additionally, visitors can savor classic winter beverages like apple cider, hot chocolate, and gl hwein. “The Alm” is back as a vibrant place to congregate and celebrate for a genuine German beer garden experience.
According to the official release, Santa set up his house on December 6 for photo ops and to spread holiday cheer until Christmas Eve, while Phil the Reindeer will begin greeting guests tomorrow. For those who want to enjoy alcohol, Thirsty Thursday will be back on December 5, 12, and 19, and there will be more fun during Family Weekend on December 7-8. On December 14–15, there will also be a unique commemoration of German-American ancestry.
