Fire tore through a building in West Seattle yesterday evening, with firefighters swiftly responding to multiple 911 calls that first reported the blaze. According to a

from the Seattle Fire Department, the fire erupted in the 5200 block of 35th Ave. SW at a Seattle Parks Department building within Camp Long. The call came at around 8:02 p.m. on the night of November 11.
Upon arrival, firefighters from Fire Station 32 were greeted with flames predominantly consuming the first floor of the two-story edifice, featuring a basement. Crews initially fought the blaze from outside the structure and, upon entry, uncovered a perilous hole in the flooring. This discovery swiftly led the incident commander to advise a defensive attack, allowing firefighters to safely continue their efforts from the exterior.
With the majority of the flames doused within 40 minutes or so, the site was considerably cleared by 11 a.m. the following morning. Confirming the efficacy of the response, there were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the incident remains under investigation, with updates pending further examination.
The fire saw an aggressive response from the Seattle Fire Department, mobilizing close to 60 personnel, which included seven engines, three ladder trucks, Rescue Company 1, as well as various aid and medic units, support staff and command staff. They worked tirelessly to manage and eventually contain a situation that could quickly have turned even more destructive than it already had been.
