Early on a Wednesday morning, firefighters responded to a blaze at True Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to

, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was called to the scene located at 10424 South Graham Avenue just before 5 a.m.

Flames were seen erupting from the rear of the structure as firefighters, arriving promptly, got to work tackling the inferno. A video taken by Sky5 captured the intensity at the scene, where firefighters were seen on the church’s roof with chainsaws to ventilate smoke.

LAFD Incident Alerts

indicated that one additional task force was requested during the operation, which witnessed 36 firefighters valiantly working and managing to extinguish the fire in under 20 minutes.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported, as per the

LAFD

. The LAFD’s Arson Unit, responding per standard protocol for any incident involving a house of worship, has begun an investigation into the fire’s cause. As of now, the reasons remain unknown.
