A bus collision that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Michigan 139 at East Empire Avenue resulted in the injuries of five individuals.
According to the authorities, a bus belonging to the Berrien Regional Education Service Agency came into the junction just as the traffic light turned green, causing it to collide with a Medic 1 Ambulance that had been traveling north on M-139 in response to an emergency call.
As a result of the incident, the bus was thrown in the direction of the oncoming traffic, where it hit another bus.
According to the authorities, the incident resulted in critical injuries for the paramedics who were assigned to Medic 1, while the driver of the second bus and an aide on each bus sustained minor injuries.
When the buses were involved in the collision, the authorities said that there were four pupils on board, although none of them sustained any injuries.
A thorough investigation of the accident is still ongoing.
