A former real estate executive from San Luis Obispo, Ryan Wright, has been sentenced to a solid five years behind bars after pleading guilty to running a bribery operation that funneled close to $95,000 to a once-trusted county supervisor. From June 2014 to March 2017, Wright bribed Hill with cash and perks to secure support for PB Companies’ projects. In return, Hill used his influence as a county supervisor to back these developments and persuaded other city officials to support Wright’s plans. Notably, Wright wired $10,000 to Hill’s shell company a month after Hill backed a PB Companies project. He also funded a luxury trip for Hill to a Major League Baseball playoff game in San Francisco.
