Fort Collins Announces City Office Closures for Thanksgiving, Essential Services to Remain Operational

All City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in celebration of Thanksgiving, according to the City of Fort Collins’ announcement of a two-day closure. As all golf courses and the Gardens on Spring Creek take a short break, residents will need to modify their plans, according to the City of Fort Collins.

All recreation centers and the Museum of Discovery will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but important services like utilities, fire, and police will continue to run normally, and Transfort will provide holiday service for people traveling. The following day, also referred to as Black Friday, sees the reopening of Transfort, the Museum of Discovery, and the Gardens on Spring Creek, all of which are open during regular business hours. The Senior Center, on the other hand, only opens for the Holiday Artisan Market, leaving the other recreational facilities closed.

In preparation for the Thanksgiving celebrations, EPIC, Foothills Activity Center, The Farm, Mulberry Pool, Northside Aztlan Community Center, and the Senior Center will all have early closures on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Services will conclude at 2 p.m. Therefore, in order to minimize any disturbance, residents of Fort Collins are encouraged to schedule their leisure activities during these vacation hours.

In keeping with the spirit of the holidays, the city has modified its schedule to allow staff and the community to enjoy Thanksgiving. At the same time, residents are reminded to be aware of the changes, especially those who depend on city services during this time. For a seamless transition throughout the holiday season, community members must remain aware as the closures and altered hours are about to take effect.
