Fort Worth Gun Range Incident: Man Accidentally Killed

TARRANT COUNTY – A man was killed Monday when a firearm he was attempting to clear malfunctioned and a round struck him in the head, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

“It appears to be purely accidental,” a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 8:49 p.m. at Shoot Smart Gun Range, 10305 North Freeway (I-35W), just south of Golden Triangle Boulevard.

Upon arrival, police found the adult had been shot. He was later pronounced dead.

The police investigation into the shooting is continuing.
