Frisco City Facilities Announce Thanksgiving Closure and Schedule Adjustments, Waste Management Services Remain Operational

As Thanksgiving draws near, Frisco residents can arrange their vacation around the modified hours of city facilities, as many services and amenities will be unavailable over the holiday. According to the City of Frisco’s official website, municipal offices, including City Hall and the Municipal Court, will be closed from November 28 to November 29. On Wednesday, November 27, the Frisco Athletic Center will have shortened hours, closing early at 5 p.m., and will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. The next day, services will resume with restricted hours, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Frisco Public Library and the Connection at Stonebriar Centre, which caters to book lovers, will be closed from November 28 to December 1. The main library’s drive-thru book return system will remain operational, though. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Frisco Fire Safety Town and its affiliated central fire administrative offices will likewise be closed. They will resume on December 2.

Along with the other facilities, The Grove at Frisco Commons and The Frisco Heritage Center are also taking a two-day break and will resume regular operations on December 2 and December 3, respectively. The Frisco Discovery Center has slightly different hours; it is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 29 but closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Waste management is a vital service that never takes a vacation. Thanksgiving Day will not see curbside recycling or citywide garbage collection, but the timetable will be modified to minimize any major disruptions for locals. “If your regular service day is Thursday, services will be provided on Friday,” the City of Frisco’s statement explained. However, from November 28 to December 1, the Environmental Services offices and the environmental collection facility will be closed. During this time, any unattended drop-off would be considered unlawful dumping.
