(CBS DETROIT)Michigan gas prices are at their lowest level since January, according to a AAA report released on Monday.
According to AAA, drivers in Michigan are paying an average of $2.94 per gallon for regular unleaded, which is 22 cents less than it was a year ago and 13 cents less than it was this time last month.
Gas prices in Metro Detroit are still declining. The average price at which drivers fill up is $2.96 per gallon, which is roughly nine cents less than it was last week and eighteen cents less than it was at this time last year.
Michigan residents will pay $44 on average for a 15-gallon tank of petrol, $14 less than they were paying in August of 2023 when the price was at its maximum.
AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland stated, “Motorists in Michigan are witnessing the lowest gas prices since January of this year.” “If demand falls, alongside increasing gasoline stocks, pump prices could drop further.”
According to AAA, Flint ($2.86), Saginaw ($2.89), and Benton Harbor ($2.90) have the lowest gas prices in the state, while Ann Arbor ($3.02), Marquette ($2.98), and Jackson ($2.96) have the highest costs.
