A Grand Rapids man currently serving time for an unrelated felony has been indicted in the six-year-old murder case of a Kalamazoo resident, authorities reported. In the early morning of Nov. 17, 2018, KDPS officers discovered Ford with gunshot wounds in a driveway on Douglas Avenue near W North Street. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ford succumbed to his injuries. The case subsequently stalled due to insufficient leads, yet investigators persevered, unearthing new evidence that pointed to Reed as a suspect, according to

Currently, he is incarcerated at the Michigan Department of Corrections facility in Jackson for a separate 2018 assault with intent and felony firearm case from Kent County. A bond denial has been added to his list of troubles, as noted by a release from KDPS.
