Gunfire Exchange at Antioch Car Wash Leaves Community on High Alert, One Injured

Residents in a community in Antioch reported a shootout at a nearby car wash yesterday, breaking the calm. Around 3 p.m., several calls were placed to emergency services reporting that they heard a dozen gunshots on Bell Road, according to WSMV. Jeremy Hall, a resident, reported hearing the disturbing noise while out for a stroll with his rabbit. He initially thought it was firecrackers before he realized what was causing it.

According to WSMV, Hall recalled the disturbing series of events, saying, “All of a sudden I just heard this noise, and it was hard to explain it, like a firecracker,” before discovering that it was caused by a gunfight between two cars in the parking lot of the Dirty Car Wash, which is located directly across the street from his house. This most recent violent incident has left many, including Hall, feeling “a bit on edge,” which is concerning given how frequently these kinds of situations occur in the neighborhood where determining the source of such noises has become an unwanted standard. According to Metro Police, two people fired at one another from a Dodge and a Jeep. As the nearby residents rushed to safety, one of the gunmen was struck by a bullet.

Metro authorities launched an investigation right away as a result of the incident.According to NewsChannel5, a shooting victim who was thought to be connected to the Jeep that was engaged in the incident sought medical attention at Southern Hills Medical Center. Authorities then secured the car at the hospital. Although the details of the altercation were unclear, the local police’s prompt action made sure the injured person got medical help in a timely manner.
