Head-on Collision in Oakland County Results in Death of 66-year-old Woman and Injuries to Three Others on December 27

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – According to the authorities, a head-on collision in Oakland County resulted in the death of a woman who was 66 years old and injured three other individuals.

On Friday, December 27, at 1:53 p.m., the collision took place on Rochester Road in Oakland Township, close to Beach Drive.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a 19-year-old man from Oakland Township was driving a 2011 Ford Edge southbound on Rochester Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Both the driver of the Jeep, a guy from Clarkston who was 62 years old, and his wife, who was also 62 years old, were sent to a nearby hospital.

The male is said to be in stable health, while his wife is said to be in serious condition, according to the authorities.

A woman from Livonia, who was 66 years old and was a passenger in the backseat of the Jeep, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

The Ford driver, who was 19 years old at the time, was transported by helicopter to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

According to the authorities, it is not known why his vehicle crossed the center line; nevertheless, it does not appear that alcohol played a role in the incident.

At the time of the collision, the people who were inside both vehicles were fastened using their seatbelts.

There is still an ongoing investigation.
