Drivers in Howard County should be ready for a little detour on their commute come Monday morning. According to
Howard County
‘s official announcement, a new roadwork project is slated to kick off on November 11th. Repaving work on westbound Twin Rivers Road at Governor Warfield Parkway in Columbia will pave the way for smoother travels—but not before giving drivers the headache of a day’s worth of redirection.
For those needing to venture out between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the 11th, expect Twin Rivers Road to be closed off to all westbound traffic. With message boards and signs soon to dot the landscape, the recommended detour involves a scenic route around the project area, taking the Governor Warfield Parkway to Little Patuxent Parkway, Harpers Farm Road, and finally back onto Twin Rivers Road. Hoping to ease the pain of the change, the county assures a marked path will guide commuters.
