Henderson’s Somerset Park Residents Remain in Homes After City Repairs Plumbing Issues

Somerset Park residents in Henderson may now unwind after the city fixed plumbing issues that threatened to force them to relocate. According to the FOX 5 Vegas article, the City of Henderson completed the project by repairing subterranean leaks that had impacted the community’s water supply.

Despite their fear of eviction, residents along Boulder Highway and Galleria Drive maintained that they had paid their dues to the HOA. Kenny Kester, a resident of Somerset Park, told KTNV, “We paid our bills. The ones who stole the money from there are the ones who handled it improperly.

Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero commended the teamwork that kept residents in their houses. She added toKTNV, “I am pleased that the City was able to step in and successfully repair the underground water leaks and that we were able to keep Somerset residents in their homes.” Romero also acknowledged the efforts of community partners and city departments.

Residents are facing financial difficulties as a result of a tax lien to finance infrastructure costs, even though the repair was effective. Some people are concerned since they are expected to pay between $5,000 and $7,000 per property. The project stayed within the $604,000 budget that the City Council had approved, even though it involved dismantling dangerous buildings and repairing more than 85 subsurface laterals. As a future agenda item, the City of Henderson intends to approve the evaluation and talk about next measures. Apart from the plumbing repairs, the Somerset Park HOA will be in charge of continuing property care.
