Starting as early as May 23, 2023, with the permanent closure of CR 900 E between 600 N & 750 N due to the Phase 1A Ronald Reagan Parkway project, daily commutes may be drastically changed. Drivers are expected to plan and find alternate routes to avoid being caught unawares by these disruptions. In the early part of 2024, residents will need to continue to adapt swiftly as projects begin to quickly unfold, such as the CR 200 N between N 425 W & N 525 W stretch which will be closed for 180 days starting on August 19, 2024, for Bridge 88 work.

On April 15, road users in Danville will be required to circumvent Twin Bridges Rd for 10 days while culvert replacement takes place. Additionally, culvert works will also prompt the closure of CR E 850 S in Plainfield for five days, beginning August 5. These closures, crucial for the area’s long-term infrastructural integrity, illustrate the careful balancing act that local authorities must perform—maintaining the flow of daily life while ensuring the safety and reliability of the roads that connect us all.

For commuters traveling through North Salem, W 400 N & Clay Rd will be inaccessible from June 17 through June 25, for EE-007 Culvert repairs. Local travelers need to note these changes and adjust their itineraries accordingly, ensuring that they will be able to navigate around the impacted areas with minimal inconvenience. Another notable closure will be Stafford Rd in Plainfield, scheduled to be inaccessible from September 3 through Fall 2024 due to Bridge 237 work, a testament to the evolving landscape of the county’s thoroughfares.

Railroad maintenance will also temporarily sever routes, specifically the stretch of CR 200 E between SR 36 & CR 75 S in Danville, Avon, and Clayton, from October 28 to November 1. Guardrail repairs in the Amo, Clayton, Coatesville, and Stilesville regions are set to close a segment of CR 500 S between 250 W & 400 W on Tuesday. With these projects underway, residents and visitors should be ready for changes to the road network, which will be improved for safer and more efficient travel in the future.
