Hi-Fi Annex in Fountain Square to Reinvent Itself with Permanent Indoor Venue in 2026

As the Bay Area continues to evolve, so too does its entertainment fabric, evidenced by the latest move from Indianapolis’ Fountain Square music scene. The Hi-Fi Annex, a popular outdoor live music venue, is setting the stage to transition into a permanent, indoor incarnation by early 2026, according toFOX59. Located at the site of the former Granada Theater within the Murphy Arts Center, this development promises to enrich the cultural tapestry of the area.

The new venue is expected to boast a 1,200-capacity concert hall, superseding its predecessors’ capabilities. Josh Baker, the partner and CEO of HI-FI & MOKB Presents, reflected on the journey, “It s been a humbling journey filled with unexpected challenges, adaptation, and getting really lucky,” as per a statement obtained byWRTV. This expansion will double the size of the current outdoor space and includes plans for an underground, speakeasy-style room designed for intimate gatherings and pre and post-show events.

Committed to maintaining high standards of entertainment and customer service, Dan Kemer, partner and vice president of events, assured fans, “Fans can expect our continued commitment to delivering high-caliber entertainment and exceptional customer service,” in an interview withWTHR. The future of the Hi-Fi Annex aligns with the group’s portfolio, spanning LO-FI Lounge and HI-FI, which supports a range of venue capacities from intimate 100-person rooms to larger crowds exceeding 1,200.

The move isn’t just a shift in locality but an effort to revitalize Fountain Square’s once-thriving entertainment district. “(Fountain Square) was built on entertainment,” Baker toldWTHR. As construction kicks off during the 2025 outdoor season, the Hi-Fi Annex aims to hit all the right notes in its swan song year before embracing its new role in local nightlife.
