An intense scene unfolded on Highway 29 near South Kelly Road in American Canyon when local police engaged in a high-speed chase with a red Ford Explorer. According to a social media post by the

, the vehicle was racing northbound at approximately 90 mph before being intercepted by law enforcement last night.
The driver, identified as a 48-year-old Vallejo resident, displayed signs of impairment upon the intervention by police. The investigation led to the discovery of a loaded, unregistered Raven .25-caliber firearm. Officers also found what was suspected to be methamphetamine in the vehicle. The individual, a convicted felon under probation, was no stranger to the criminal justice system and now stands accused of five felony charges stemming from firearm possession, with added counts for speeding and drug possession.
The driver was swiftly booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections. Besides the driver, the passenger in the Ford Explorer was found in possession of a controlled substance but was released at the scene after receiving a citation.
