Hit-and-run Victim Dies After Being Struck at Bus Stop in Madison Heights, Suspect in Custody

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich.(DDN) – A guy waiting at a bus stop was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Madison Heights, police said.

The emergency call came in around 4:53 p.m. Wednesday, reporting an incident on southbound Dequindre Road, north of 11 Mile Road in Oakland County.

Madison Heights Police reported that the victim, a 68-year-old male, was transferred to Corewell Health / Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and died as a consequence of his injuries.

Police were looking for the vehicle involved, which was described as a gold Toyota Camry with Michigan plates.

Later that evening, the department reported that the vehicle’s driver had been arrested.

The investigation is continuing.
