The Metropolitan Police Department was summoned to a discovery in Northeast Washington, D.C., yesterday morning. After being shot, officers discovered a male adult who was later identified as Dashane Judd, age 31. He was not responding and appeared to be dead. Local authorities have confirmed that this incident, which occurred in the 1500 block of Benning Road in Northeast, was a homicide.

Judd was not responding when the Fifth District police arrived at around 6:17 a.m., according to the material made public by MPD. When DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene, they confirmed the apparent death. The body was then taken for additional inspection to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Judd, who is said to have no regular address, is the focus of an investigation aimed at determining the cause of this incident.
