, the incident began just before 12:45 a.m. when police attempted to stop an unidentified man driving near the Galleria. The driver ignored their orders and began a dangerous pursuit.

Witnesses observed the fleeing vehicle reach speeds close to 100 miles per hour, a detail confirmed by authorities, as the driver led police on a dangerous route including 59, I-10, and 610 East Fwy. In an attempt to evade officers, the driver repeatedly turned his car’s lights on and off, making the chase more difficult. The pursuit ended when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed on Des Chaumes Street.

The driver, though initially escaping on foot, was found and arrested at a nearby home on Vintage Street.
