After a fight between teens on Gulfton Street near Westward Street, a father from Houston was hospitalized after being shot in the abdomen. According to Houston police, the incident happened just after two in the morning after a verbal altercation got out of hand, as reported by KHOU.
The victim’s son and a friend were on their porch when two teenagers, with whom they had previously argued about school, approached them, according to reports from the scene. This sparked the altercation that resulted in the father’s involvement and the subsequent shooting; the suspects then fled on foot.
According to CW39, police have not yet detained the suspects in the incident. The father, who has not been identified, was brought to the hospital in stable condition; no other information about his health has been made public.
