Houston Welcomes Cool Front with Sunny Skies and Crisp Autumn Temperatures

Residents of Houston should anticipate milder fall temperatures. Sunny sky and cooler temperatures have returned to the city after a spell of rain and humidity. The National Weather Service predicts that Wednesday will be sunny with a high of about 68 degrees and a north breeze of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of up to 20 mph.

A cold front that brought dry air earlier this week is responsible for the pleasant weather. With daytime highs in the 60s to low 70s and maybe lower morning lows in the 40s, temperatures are predicted to stay consistent. Click2Houston stated that Thursday morning was especially cold, with temperatures predicted to “really settle by Thursday morning”—waking up residents of Houston to temps in the mid-40s.

Interestingly, Houston hasn’t seen temps in the mid-40s for more than eight months.According to Click2Houston, the city has nearly hit those lows twice this fall, with temperatures of 47 degrees this past Sunday and 48 degrees last Friday. But the last time we experienced temperatures in the mid-40s was on March 19, when we fell to a cold 43. 245 days have passed since then. Click2Houston provided a forecast overview in detail.

Clear skies and sunlight are predicted for the next few days. The National Weather Service predicts that Friday will be sunny with a high of over 70 degrees, and that the lovely weather will last into the weekend. If there is no rain, the 10-day forecast predicts a warm-up early next week with ideal Thanksgiving weather.

“We’ll see cool mornings in the 40s and 50s and perfect afternoons in the low 70s over the next couple of days,” Click2Houston says in their report. A brief autumnal break is expected to bring relief from the typical Texas heat for the metropolis.
